THE SALVATION ARMY is teaming up with other non-profit organisations to feed the families of 900 unemployed people.
Divisional business manager and public relations officer, Sherma Evelyn, said they were conducting the exercise with the help of the COVID-19 Essential Committee and the Rotary Club of Barbados.
“We are at present catering to 900 families. Our maximum is 800 people but the extra 100 are new people that we put onto the programme. They have replaced another set of 100 people who went back out to work,” she said.
“In April, it was 400 families from seven parishes and then with the partnerships we were able to expand our reach to 800 families in all 12 parishes.”
