APUA Provides Update COVID-19 Utility Relief Efforts

  • In the early stages of the pandemic, APUA introduced the
COVID-19 Utility Relief Efforts that included the waiver of disconnections of utility services and an
increase in the discount on electricity accounts. These benefits were shared across residential and
    commercials services.
Similar to any essential institution, APUA has suffered the ramification of a challenging fiscal year while
maintaining reliable service delivery in its unbroken pursuit to support the lives and livelihoods of the
people of Antigua and Barbuda. Following a nine (9) month waiver of disconnections, APUA would like
to inform its customers that disconnections of delinquent residential and commercial utility accounts
will resume on Monday February 1st, 2021. Further, the 15% discount will revert to 10% for residential
accounts and will discontinue for commercial services on the same date.
A criterion has been developed to assist those who continue to experience financial distress. If you are
unable to settle your account, please schedule an appointment with our Credit Control Department by
calling 480-7002 to discuss a payment plan.
The Authority commends those who have managed to keep their accounts up-to-date in the most
challenging of times. APUA also reminds customers to be responsible consumers of the essential
services: electricity and water in an effort to ensure that bills remain at a manageable amount.
APUA reiterates that the fight against this global adversary, the corona virus, is not yet over and urges all
to be responsible citizens by adhering to the national COVID-19 Protocols and continue to stay safe!
