Antigua and Barbuda Looking to do Joint Economic Projects With China

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has indicated that his  government is looking  forward  to doing joint economic projects with the People’s Republic  of China.

The Prime Minister said this will be the focus of the discussions with the new Chinese Ambassaor.

Last week, the People’s Republic of China announced that Ambassador  Designate His Excellency Sun Ang  will arrive in St John’s on May 23,2019 at which time he will formally present his credentials to the Governor General  of Antigua and Barbuda.

According  to Prime Minister Browne,his government is hoping to see a greater level of economic co-operation between Antigua and Barbuda and the People’s Republic of China.

“so our focus going forward will be possibly doing joint economic projects with the Chinese and I don’t see any reason,why they  can’t collaborate with us to do  a large hotel project,” the prime minister said.

The Prime Minister said that he has already written to the People’s  Republic Of China  pertaining to a significant project.

“ My government will want to have some equity with regards to our collaboration with the government of the  people’s republic of china or sate agencies,” the prime minister  indicated.

Prime Minister Browne added  that his administration, is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new ambassador from the People’s Republic of China.
