The country has recorded four more deaths from people who tested positive for covid-19, they were announced late last night in two separate statements released by the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre. Two were women aged 97 and 78 who died at the hospital yesterday afternoon, a third Patient, age 80 passed away on Saturday but her death was only announced last night. A subsequent statement revealed a male patient aged 49 died early this morning shortly after midnight.
All four had tested positive for the coronavirus medical director Dr. Albert Duncan said. He added that the hospital thoughts and condolences were with the patient’s families and loved ones. Last night announcements came hours after it was revealed that a 25 year old woman had also died with covid, she passed away 1:25pm yesterday.
Meanwhile, health authorities continue to appeal to residents to abide the safety protocols to avoid contracting the illness. They include wearing a face mask, practicing social distancing, avoiding large gatherings and getting vaccinated. The latest deaths takes the country’s total fatality count to 53.
