Sunwing to spend US$40 million to upgrade Halcyon Hotel

The Cabinet held a discussion on the proposal by Sunwing to partner with Rex Resorts to rehabilitate and to grow the Halcyon Hotel.

The company will spend nearly US$40 million to upgrade the Halcyon Hotel—not unlike what has been done by Sunwing with the rundown Royal Antiguan. Many of the participants, during the OECS Meetings, expressed great surprise at the magnificence of the property. Antiguans who knew the Royal Antiguan applauded the glorious transformation of the property that Sunwing has engineered and designed at Deep Bay. Halcyon will remain a Government-owned property leased to Sunwing and Rex Resorts.
