CLARE HALL STUDENT TO SHADOW BRANCH MANAGER FOR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

– A Clare Hall Secondary student will experience all aspects of bank management on International Women’s Day, tomorrow.

Ms. Gimel Matthew, a fifth form business student, has been chosen to shadow CIBC FirstCaribbean Branch Manager, Dawn Soleyn, as she performs her banking duties tomorrow.

Country Manager Glen Smith explained that for the past few years the bank has been hosting an International Women’s Day event which celebrates the achievements of women as an inspiration to our youths.

“This year we decided to invite a top female student to shadow our Branch Manager so that she can get the experience of a work environment. Since she is a business student, this would assist her not only in her studies but maybe also in choosing an occupation.”

“Working along with Dawn Soleyn will be an inspiration. She is an Antiguan, from humble beginnings, who has worked her way up through the ranks of the bank. She started as a teller 29 years ago, did studies with the Canadian Institute of Bankers and the University of Leicester and today she is the Manager of both our branches.”

The theme of International Women’s Day is Balance for Better.
