Bad Weather Forces Delta Flight To Divert To St Kitts

The inclement weather is affecting operations at the V.C. Bird International airport, with about two flights having to be diverted.

Sources close to the airport say that the flights were diverted because of poor visability due to  heavy precipitation as intermittent rainfall earlier in the day, intensified by midafternoon.

A Delta flight out of Atlanta, Georgia,USA with over 150 passengers was one of the flights diverted.

Nice Fm was infomed that the Delta  aircaraft circled the V.C. Bird International Airport five times before it was diverted to nearby St Kitts.

However at about 4.30p.m.,Nice Fm was informed by telephone that the flight was expected to leave in about fifteen minutes for Antigua.
