“The Antigua and Barbuda music community has lost a great musician who was passionate about the artform and whose life was dedicated to the continued development of music,” were the words used to describe the late Eric Peters by Minister responsible for Culture and the Arts, the Hon. Daryll Matthew.
The body of Eric Peters was discovered Wednesday afternoon in his Browne’s Avenue home with the cause of death unknown.
“Eric was not only a great musician, but he was also one of our judges during the Carnival season for the past three years. He was a reliable and meticulous calypso and soca judge who took his responsibilities seriously. His expertise will certainly be missed,” Minister Matthew noted.
Minister Matthew extended his condolences and that of the Festivals Commission and the Chairperson of the Judges Committee, Denise Gardner. “We trust that his family will find peace in this time of bereavement and we pray that Eric’s soul will rest in peace.”
Eric Peters was also an original member of the famous Antiguan Vision Band which produced many hits during the early 1990’s.(Ends)
