Antigua Earmarked for Wellness Tourism Project

The Cabinet recently invited three groups/officials to come before it for consultations: Ambassador Gilbert Boustany brought a team of doctors, led by a specialist, who were invited to Cabinet in order to share their findings on constructing a wellness project in the Coolidge area. According to the government, the objective is to promote medical tourism to Antigua by high-end earners from the USA, the Middle East, South America and Europe. The project will cost more than US$350 million dollars to construct and to equip with the most sophisticated equipment. The project will train and employ hundreds of specialist nurses, administrative staff, and other kinds of hospitality workers in order to serve the steady flow of customer/patients that are expected to fly to Antigua for treatment, year-round.
